Football Data Engineer

Right To Dream is looking to add a detail-oriented and collaborative Data Engineer to our growing team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in the organization and management of information for our Group with focus on football data. This role will involve maintaining and building ETL pipelines to efficiently store internal and external data in an easily accessible fashion. The person in this role will also assist in deploying web applications and help build additional tools to assist members across all academies and clubs in the ownership group.Key Responsibilities• Providing expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
Description:
• Making data architecture decisions, handling outside vendor data, building and optimizing ETL processes for both internal and external data.
• Ensuring that data is stored in an accessible manner.
• Leading the management and administration of a PostgreSQL database.
• Maintaining AWS containers.
• Architecting data storage solutions to efficiently store information in an accessible fashion to help drive down time to insight.
• Helping implement and maintain web applications to enhance research and decision-making across the Group
• Creating and following processes to keep data confidential.
• Contributing to the implementation of a comprehensive football information database.
• Assist in maintaining and updating package in Python.
• Collaborate with Data & Insights teams on ad-hoc analysis and projects for the Recruitment Departments and Coaching Staffs.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field preferred, or demonstrated experience.
• Experience working with a Cloud solution (AWS preferred).
• Experience with SQL / PostgreSQL Databases.
• Experience with Version Control and package management in GitHub.
• Experience with football data (i.e. event, tracking)
• Fluent in English
