LEAD ACADEMY ANALYST
Ipswich Town Football Club
Ipswich Town Football Club is looking for an experienced Lead Academy Analyst to play a key role in supporting our Club and driving a positive workplace culture. You will lead and deliver an effective performance analysis programme to support the development of players within the U21 age group, whilst also managing the day-to-day operations of the performance analysis department to ensure consistent and high-quality support across the academy.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead on the capture, code & feedback process of U21 fixtures and training sessions.
- Produce, share, and deliver regular video content relevant to team / unit & individual performance within the U21 age group.
- Produce, share, and deliver regular video content relevant to individual action plans within the U21 age group.
- Generate statistical insights from U21 fixtures in a timely and efficient manner.
- Code best practice content from U21 fixtures and training sessions to support the creation of the Academy’s best practice library.
- Develop an age-appropriate and player-appropriate strategy for performance analysis delivery and lead performance analysis staff to deliver this across the academy.
- Co-ordinate the capture, code & feedback process for fixtures and training sessions across the academy to ensure the effective achievement of department objectives & KPIs.
- Actively contribute to the performance analysis education program for players, parents, and academy staff.
- Design and facilitate purposeful CPD plans for full-time, part-time and placement student staff across the department.
- Co-ordinate and lead monthly department and individual meetings with fulltime, part-time and placement student staff across the department.
- Attend all multi-disciplinary meetings required for the role.
- Any additional Performance Analysis tasks as required by the Head of Academy Data & Insights or other senior Academy staff.
WHO ARE YOU?
- A minimum of 3 year’s full-time experience working within elite football.
- A strong technical and tactical understanding of football with the ability to contextualise and deliver this knowledge to players and coaches.
- A strong understanding of using performance analysis to support player development.
- A willingness and ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. An extremely proactive and driven approach to working tasks.
- An ambitious and enthusiastic working attitude to set high standards. Strong knowledge of performance analysis software & tools, such as Hudl Studio, Hudl Sportscode & Wyscout.
- Strong knowledge of video capture equipment, such as camcorders, VEO cameras & drones.
- BSc/BA in Sports Science/Performance Analysis or an industry equivalent qualification.
IDEALLY HAVE
- Previous experience of leading a performance analysis department & managing staff within an elite football environment.
- Previous experience of working with elite, young athletes.
- Previous experience of working with data & statistical insights within a performance analysis setting.
- MSc/MRes in Performance Analysis or an industry equivalent qualification.
- UEFA B Coaching License.
